Cassandra and Dianne

For a cult to form, it takes a balance; a symmetry of circumstances and encounters for cults to find their footing, drawing both followers and leaders into their circle. For the followers, it's like standing alone on the edge of a cliff, feeling the weight of loneliness until a welcoming hand reaches out, promising unity and acceptance. The allure lies in never facing solitude again, even if it means abandoning reason and logic...jumping into something mysterious.
As for the leaders, it's the pursuit of power, wealth, or maybe the deep impulse to destroy. Nihilism is the belief that all values are baseless and that nothing can be known or communicated. A true nihilist would believe in nothing, have no loyalists and no purpose other than perhaps, destruction...  It was Friedrich Nietzsche who argued that nihilism and its corrosive effects would eventually destroy all moral, religious and metaphysical convictions and precipitate the greatest crisis in human history.  Is that time now?  We are going to review 5 types of the most well-known cults in human history.  Decades and times apart, and at the end, we will discuss possibly one of the most frightening modern-day cults, one that has yet to reach true destruction... Welcome to Episode 41, The Inner Circle: Uncovering Cults.
